Hello, my name is Amanda and I am a New York City Teaching Fellow.
I was born and raised in central Florida and I recently graduated from the University of Miami with a B.S. in Marine Science and Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I will be teaching high school biology in the Bronx for the next couple of years. Needless to say this is a big and exciting change for this little Florida girl!
Hey Amanda:
I came across your blog while doing some research on the NYC Teaching Fellows program. I’m 33, and 11+ years into a career in IT (i.e. I play with computers all day) — and I’m HEAVILY considering moving into a teaching career.
Was wondering if you would mind if I picked your brain about your thoughts on the NYCTF program, and (as you go through it) teaching in general…
thanks.
oh, and good luck!
